Andy Bell Brings New Solo Album to Birmingham with Debbie Harry Duet in Tow

Andy Bell has teamed up with the legendary Debbie Harry for ‘Heart’s A Liar’, a shimmering new track lifted from his upcoming solo album Ten Crowns, out 2 May via Crown Recordings. The release sees the Erasure frontman in fine form, delivering an emotionally rich electro-pop duet with one of his ultimate heroes.

“I still can’t quite believe it,” says Bell of the collaboration. “Debbie gives the song this gravitas and coquettishness, but she’s still very in command. And she recorded her vocals on Gay Pride – I mean, of course she did!”

The single arrives just ahead of Bell’s UK and European tour, kicking off in early May, with a run of dates that includes a must-see Midlands stop. Fans can catch Andy live at Birmingham Symphony Hall on 2 May, with support from Dave Audé – the Grammy-winning producer and DJ who co-wrote and produced Ten Crowns. Expect a euphoric mix of synths, soul, and gospel-tinged electronica from a singer whose voice remains as powerful and expressive as ever.

Also featuring previously released favourites like ‘Don’t Cha Know’, Dance For Mercy, and Breaking Thru The Interstellar, Ten Crowns is a celebration of joy, resilience and self-discovery. Written and recorded in Nashville, it draws on Bell’s childhood experiences singing in choirs, fusing those memories with pulsing dance beats and rich vocal arrangements.

Bell, still working alongside Vince Clarke in Erasure, sees Ten Crowns as a milestone in his solo journey. “In Erasure, our third album was our most successful,” he notes. “So I’m taking that spirit with me into this one.”

The tour continues across the UK before heading into Europe in June, with Bell also confirmed to headline Brighton’s Pride on the Park this August.
