The Derwent Fest, hosted by the Derwent Arms in Norton, will include live music and entertainment in aid of two charities.
Charlie Barber-Peat, one of the landlords said: “Derwent Fest is a local outdoor festival filled with fun, music and laughter and all for charity. When we first hosted the event in Summer 2024 it was such a success that we had to do it again this year, only bigger and better.
“The festival, will be held on Saturday, July 12 starting at 1pm with a live singer on our stage every hour. This year we also have The Reply, a five-piece band who have kindly agreed to come and play for us for free for the charities which will be closing our event from 8pm until late.
“The whole day is solely for charities. A local charity Tom Parsons Trust, which was set up after the family sadly lost their son ’Tom’ to an underlying heart condition whilst he was abroad on holiday with his friends, and Candlelight’s which is a charity supporting families and children with terminal cancer, a charity close to mine and my husbands family after losing a family member to leukaemia at the age of 18 in 2023.
“During the day we have also got local businesses involved by allowing them to pitch a stall during the event including perfume ranges, cleaning ranges, clothing stalls, face painting and even an ice cream van, bringing the community together whilst supporting one another, as well as other attractions such as a fire engine and tractors for the children.
“There will be food available throughout the day and an outside bar so that people can enjoy the weather as well as the live music all day.”
