The Valkyrie have been placed in Group D of this year’s Women’s Nines Festival, which takes place on Saturday, July 5 at West Park Leeds RFC.
They will be sharing the group with a familiar opponent in Leigh Leopards, who they played as recently as two weeks ago, and defeated 26-0.
Also in Group D will be Cardiff Demons and Wakefield Trinity.
Leigh are the other Betfred Women’s Super League team in York’s group, whilst Cardiff currently play in the Betfred Women’s Super League South, and Wakefield are in the Betfred Women’s League One.
Lindsay Anfield’s side will start their first match at 11.15am against Leigh Leopards, before playing Cardiff Demons at 12, both on pitch one, and then Wakefield Trinity at 1pm on pitch two.
Gates will open at 10am before the first match of the day gets underway at 10.45am.
The Shield Final will be at 3pm, which sees teams who finished from 13th to 17th in the groups, before the cup final at 3.20pm, for teams that finished between 9th and 12th.
The Women’s Nines Final will follow to round off the day at 3.40pm.
There will also be off-field entertainment available, with live music from Jamie Anne, who is the official DJ for football side Manchester City.
