Alexis Bellino ‘Perplexed’ by Heather Dubrow’s Reasoning for Skipping Her Wedding

Alexis Bellino says she’s “perplexed” by Heather Dubrow‘s “awkward” reasoning for skipping her recent wedding to John Janssen.

During an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live! on Oct. 9, Heather, 56, told host Andy Cohen that she and husband Terry Dubrow were invited to the Oct. 3 wedding, but chose not to attend for several reasons.

“We were at Parents Weekend with our daughter,” she explained, adding, “Complicated invite, because obviously Shannon [Beador] is a good friend and we’re not friends with Alexis and John as a couple.”

Asked about Heather’s comments on the Oct. 10 episode of the Reality with the King podcast, Bellino, 48, said she is “still thrown off.”

“I’m a little perplexed,” she admitted. “I haven’t texted [Heather] or reached out yet. But it’s funny because — I don’t understand it — we’ve gone to dinner with them several times, and I guess maybe it’s a work friendship. But I thought we had a deeper friendship than that.”

Bellino said Heather gave “kind of an awkward answer,” and pointed out that her costar shared on a previous WWHL appearance that she talked to Bellino more than she talked to Beador, 61.

“And now all of a sudden, she’s filming with Shannon, and I’m not filming,” Bellino continued. “But we still just texted a couple days ago and even a couple days before that, and then she wished me well on my wedding day or right after.”

Bellino revealed that she even asked Heather to sing at her wedding, like she did at costar Tamra Judge‘s wedding. “I was like, ‘Do you wanna sing at my wedding too?’ And she was like, ‘Oh, my gosh. That was too stressful at Tamra’s wedding. I don’t wanna, I can’t do it again.’ ”

Still, Bellino said she remains “very perplexed” by Heather’s explanation for skipping her big day. “I’m still kinda thrown off,” she said. “Yeah, it’s awkward and weird.”

She described Heather’s response as “calculated,” saying, “It didn’t even sound like Heather. That’s not the Heather I talk with on the phone.”

Belliino then wondered, “Did something happen that I don’t know about?”

She shared her intention to reach out to Heather to clear the air, and promised she would “get to the bottom of it.”

Bellino tied the knot with Janssen in Laguna Beach, Calif., surrounded by 140 of their closest family members and friends, including RHOC’s Judge, Jo De La Rosa and Heather Amin, as well as McBee Dynasty‘s Galyna Saltkovska. 

Reflecting on the occasion, Bellino told PEOPLE, “This wedding was absolutely a dream come true. Emotional, joyful, sacred, and so us. Truly the most magical day of our lives.”

She said she and Janssen — who have six children between them from previous relationships — are looking forward to “more love, more adventure, more family memories.”

“Blending our families fully, building a life rooted in love and faith, and continuing to grow together,” she added. “And lots of grandchildren, obviously. With six kids, there will be a lot of grandkids!”
