Planning a trip can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time. With so many European countries, big cities, and routes to choose from, it’s easy to overpack and end up exhausted instead of enjoying the experience. But you can now enjoy your trip from the first days!

This easy 2 week Europe itinerary is designed to help first-time visitors explore 3 to 5 cities across 2 to 4 countries without feeling rushed. It balances must see destinations with realistic travel time, so you can actually enjoy each scenic route.

Quick Summary for Your 2 Week Europe Trip

  • Countries: 2–4
  • Cities: 3–5
  • Budget: $1,800–$2,800 (₱100,000 – ₱155,000+)
  • Best time for good weather: Summer (June–August)
  • Transport: Trains + short flights
  • Work setup: Cafés + Eskimo eSIM + co-working spaces

This helps you see the big picture before diving into details.

What a 2 Week Europe Itinerary Looks Like

A 2 week Europe itinerary usually includes 2 to 4 countries with 2 to 4 days per city.

Most travelers would:

  • Visit 2 to 4 countries
  • Stay 2 to 4 days per city
  • Use trains or short flights

This itinerary will make the trip manageable and balanced. You can explore, rest, and enjoy the journey fully.

Do Filipinos Need a Visa to Travel to Europe?

Yes! Filipinos need a visa for most countries included in this trip, especially the Schengen area. The visa allows you to stay for up to 90 days within 180 days.

Here are the basic requirements you’ll need:

  • Bank statements
  • Flight and hotel bookings
  • Passport (valid for at least 6 months)
  • Travel insurance (minimum €30,000 coverage)

Apply at least 6-10 weeks before your trip, especially for summer 2026.

ETIAS Update (As of 2026)

The news about ETIAS (electronic travel authorization) doesn’t apply to Philippine passport holders. It’s only for travelers from visa-exempt countries like Japan or the US.

For now, EES (entry/exit system) is active. When you arrive at the border, they will ask for your facial scanning and digital fingerprinting.

Best 2 Week Europe Trip Itinerary Options by Travel Style

The best Europe itinerary depends on your travel style and budget.

  • First-time travelers → Western Route
  • Budget travelers → Southern Route
  • Food lovers → Italy + Spain
  • Digital nomads → Amsterdam + Barcelona
  • Couples → Paris + Italy

Choose based on your priorities, not just destinations. Here are my recommendations:

Option 1: Easy Western Route (Best for FirstTimers)

This route is a first-timer’s favorite option. It’s focused on visiting iconic cities with good train travel and a delightful canal cruise.

Days 1–4: Paris, France (the “City of Lights”)

  • World-class museums and iconic landmarks
  • Le Marais or Tuileries Garden
  • The famous Louvre and Eiffel Tower (make sure to book 6 weeks in advance)

Days 5–8: Amsterdam, Netherlands

  • The Eurostar ride to Amsterdam is 3.5 hours from Paris.
  • Cycling or cruising through the canals
  • The Jordaan district (for a quiet and private time)

Days 9–11: Bruges or The Rhine Valley

  • Train rides from Amsterdam:
    • To Bruges – roughly 2 hours and 50 minutes
    • To Rhine Valley – 4-5 hours
  • The Rhine Valley – dream-like adventure with medieval charm and scenic beauty
  • Bruges – food trip with waffles, chocolates, and a special heavy Belgian ale

Days 12–14: London, UK (Optional Extension)

  • “Big city energy” with all the skyscrapers and ancient ruins
  • British Museum
  • The West End theater

Note: Visiting London will require you to get a separate UK visa for Filipinos. It can take some time and effort. But if you decide not to, you can see the beaches at The Hague or Antwerp instead.

Option 2: Relaxed Southern Route

This route focuses on warmer weather and a slower pace.

Days 1–5: Barcelona & Costa Brava, Spain

  • Beach life, Gothic architecture, and late-night tapas
  • Sagrada Familia – morning light at 9am through the stained glass
  • Park Güell – Sunset panoramic views of the city and the sea
  • The Block of Discord – architectural styles that geniuses created.
  • Tossa de Mar – the “gem of the coast”. A medieval walled town named Vila Vella sits right on the beach.
  • Dali Theatre-Museum – surrealist art for art lovers

Days 6–9: Nice & The French Riviera

  • The trip from Spain to the French Riviera is far. You have three options:
    • By plane – 1 hour and 15 minutes (flight time) – quickest way
    • By car – about 6 hours and 50 minutes (no stops)
    • By train – about 8 hours and 45 minutes – scenic views by the window.
  • The French Riviera offers beach day trips, beautiful sea, and coastal hiking.
  • Paloma Beach
  • Castle Hill

Special Tip: Use Nice as your base and take the TER coastal train for €5 to visit Monaco or Cannes. It’s easier and cheaper than moving hotels.

Days 10–14: Rome & Florence, Italy

  • The flight to Rome is just an hour.
  • Art in Florence:
    • Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore
    • Piazza del Duomo
    • Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria
  • Roman Colosseum or the Roman Forum
  • Vatican City
  • Pasta and gelato
  • Trevi Fountain (Coming at 6am or sunrise is best if you want to avoid the crowds)

Which Europe Trip Itinerary Should You Choose?

Choosing your Europe itinerary will depend on your preference, your budget, and your travel style. Both itineraries offer different experiences:

  • For famous cities? Option 1
  • For a slower pace? Option 2

Western Europe is easier for first-time travelers. Southern Europe is more relaxed and often cheaper.

Full Cost Breakdown for Spending 2 Weeks in Europe

The cost of your entire trip will depend on your preferences, destination, travel style, and booking timing.

Here’s a table for comparison:

Feature / Category Option 1: Western Route Option 2: Southern Route
Transport Mostly Trains (Seamless) Mix of Train/Plane
Weather Mild to Warm (22°C–28°C) Hot & Sunny (30°C–38°C)
Best Food Pastries, Cheese, Fries Tapas, Seafood, Pasta
Crowd Level Moderate High (Peak Beach Season)
Airfare (MNL Roundtrip) ₱65,000 – ₱85,000 ₱50,000 – ₱75,000
Visa & Insurance ₱10,000 ₱10,000
Daily Budget (Excl. Stay) €90 – €130 (₱5,500+) €60 – €90 (₱3,700+)
Accommodation (3–4★) €120 – €200 / night €80 – €150 / night
Internal Transport €250 (High-speed rail) €350 (Rail + 1 local flight)
Estimated Total (Excl. Airfare) ₱185,000 – ₱230,000 ₱145,000 – ₱190,000

Sample Daily Budget in Europe

A realistic daily budget in Europe helps you plan better.

  • Breakfast: €5–€10
  • Lunch: €10–€20
  • Dinner: €15–€40
  • Attractions: €10–€25
  • Transport: €5–€15

Budget travelers can spend less with proper planning.

So Which is Better for the Budget?

  • If you don’t mind spending and have a higher budget, choose option 1. You’ll get cooler weather and seamless train travel with this.
  • If you’re going for something more budget-friendly, choose option 2. You can focus more on the food and get lower hotel rates. It will be worth navigating the hot sun.

Special Tips for Your 2 Week Europe Itinerary

Follow these tips to plan your itinerary more thoroughly.

Transport Tips for Europe Travel

Transportation during your European trip is fast and reliable. Using the trains will make traveling more efficient, not to mention scenic. Book early to save up to 60%. The high-speed tickets go on sale 3-6 months in advance.

Special Note: As of 2026, airlines no longer charge for standard hand luggage. You can now have these two for free:

  • One cabin bag (up to 7kg)
  • One small personal item (backpack or handbag)

Overhead bin space is first come, first serve. If you’re late, they will gate-check your bag. Make sure to keep your valuables with you.

When in Rome, try to avoid taxis from the airport. They have flat rates. Take the trains like Leonardo Express instead. They’re cheaper and faster to travel.

Food Tips for Europe Travel

Food in a two-week itinerary in Europe can be affordable. Choose local cafés and budget-friendly options.

Beware of the tourist traps like the laminated multi-language menu and aggressive ushers. Authentic places don’t need to find diners because they’re filled with locals.

Also, keep in mind that in Italy or Spain, locals eat dinner at 8:30pm or 9pm. If a restaurant has people by 6pm, they’re usually filled with tourists.

Money Tips for Europe Travel

To manage your money during the 2 week trip, use cards and digital banks.

  • Gcash visa card (top choice for 2026)
  • GoTyme and BPI (best backups)

Always pay with the local currency. Otherwise, a “dynamic currency conversion” will be triggered.

Here are also some hidden costs that you’ll need to budget for:

  • City Tourist Taxes – Most hotels charge a “city tax” which is often not included in your online booking price. You usually pay this in cash or card when checking out.
  • Service Fees – In Italy, look for the “coperto” on your bill. This is a standard “cover charge” (usually €2–€4) for the bread and table service. It’s not a tip, but it means you don’t need to leave a large tip.

Budget Hack: Download the “Too Good To Go” app. It lets you buy “surprise bags” of leftover high-quality food from bakeries and cafes for about €4–€5 at the end of the day!

Smart Tips to Avoid Travel Burnout

Avoiding travel burnout during a europe trip itinerary 2 weeks helps you enjoy your trip without feeling tired.

  • Limit activities each day
  • Add rest time
  • Avoid too many hotel changes

Slow travel makes your trip more enjoyable.

Booking Tips for Attractions and Saving Time

For your 2 week European tour, booking attractions early is very important. It helps you avoid long lines and sold-out tickets.

Here are three of the most common tourist spots and tips to get in:

  • The Colosseum – Check for The Colosseum tickets 30 days in advance. They have an official website where you can book to see the Colosseum. If you couldn’t book in time, try the “attic” or “underground” tours. They are often available separately.
  • The Louvre – Check for tickets to the Louvre 60 days in advance. Grab the 9am slot or the Friday night late openings (lasts until 9:45pm) if you like a cooler and less crowded experience.
  • Sagrada Familia – Check for Sagrada Familia tickets 12 weeks in advance. Book the “towers” access. It will have narrow, one-way spiral staircases. But the place has the best views.

Following these tips help you save hours during your trip.

Special Tips for Digital Nomads

In your European trip, it’s very possible to stay productive while exploring new places.

  • Work during your best hours
  • Choose Wi-Fi-friendly stays
  • Use productivity tools

What to Pack for Summer in Europe

Packing light and smart is important, especially during summer travel. Prepare for both the extreme heat and the strict dress codes of cathedral visitations.

  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Lightweight linen shirt
  • Thin, unstructured blazer
  • Dresses + closed-toe footwear
  • Emergency scarf (very important!)
  • Travel adapter
  • Power bank
  • Water bottle
  • Sunscreen (SPF 50+)

Weather can change, so wear layers.

Travel Insurance for Europe

Travel insurance is very important and required in a Europe trip itinerary. This is especially for Schengen visa approval.

  • Covers medical emergencies
  • Required for visa application
  • Helps with lost baggage

Make sure your policy covers all Schengen countries.

Pro Tip: Choose Ekta Traveling Insurance! It’s very affordable, fast, and digital, and Schengen ready.

Useful Apps for Europe Travel

For your travel around Europe, prepare the best apps that help with road trip navigation, bookings, and communication.

  • Google Maps (for navigation)
  • Booking.com or Airbnb  (for booking places to stay)
  • Currency converter apps
  • Language translating apps (for communication)

These tools save time and reduce stress.

Steps to Planning Your 2 Week Europe Trip Itinerary

Follow this step-by-step guide to plan your European trip from start to finish:

  1. Choose your countries
  2. Check visa requirements
  3. Book flights
  4. Plan transport
  5. Book accommodation
  6. Build a flexible itinerary
