The historic former home of Thomas Cromwell set in an estate with views over Oxfordshire is up for grabs for a lucky prize draw winner.

Henry VIII’s chief minister resided in the Stratford-upon-Avon estate in South Warwickshire, just over the border from Oxfordshire, before his brutal beheading. 

Popularised by Hilary Mantel’s hugely successful Wolf Hall trilogy and the resulting TV adaptations, the tale of Cromwell’s rise and fall is well-known.

 One of the chief witnesses who gave evidence against the former advisor when he was accused of heresy and treason after arranging the King’s fourth, failed marriage to Anne of Cleves was Sir George Throckmorton, who owned the neighbouring estate and coveted Cromwell’s property for its elevated setting and stunning views.
