Monument Of Misanthropy Premiere NSFW Music Video For “The Devil’s Slide” On Vimeo

Austrian technical brutal death metal outfit Monument Of Misanthropy have joined forces with U.S. movie director Chad Ferrin and videographer Shaun Hodson of Lokifilms (Sleep Token, Slaughter To Prevail, Lorna Shore, Cradle of Filth, etc.) to bring you their new NSFW music video for the band’s track “The Devil’s Slide”. After the uncensored version was briefly uploaded to YouTube — only to be swiftly taken down — it has now received a second official public premiere available for streaming now via Vimeo below:

The track is taken from the outfit’s latest album “Vile Postmortem Irrumatio”, a concept album about U.S. serial killer Ed Kemper, while the footage features scenes from Ferrin’s brand new biopic “Ed Kemper – The True Story Of An American Psycho”. The film is currently playing at select theaters and is available to rent or buy on Amazon Prime Video along with many other digital platforms.

Shares frontman George Wilfinger about the video’s second premiere:

“Well, it only took the better part of forever, but we finally dropped the uncensored music video version for “The Devil’s Slide,” on Vimeo. As you probably know YouTube removed it faster than Ed Kemper’s temper — apparently a glimpse of a nipple and the infamous bum-crack of serial killer Ed Kemper is way more offensive than, say, smashing your mum’s head in with a hammer.

Meanwhile, any kid with an internet connection can unlock the gates of Pornhub by clicking “Yep, I’m 18”.

Anyway — if you’re 18+ and have the stomach (and the bandwidth), the uncensored version is now streaming on Vimeo. For the delicate souls of YouTube, there’s also a censored version — blood-soaked but nipple-free. Enjoy responsibly. Or don’t.”

About the process of creating the new video itself Wilfinger adds:

“Over the past few months, we’ve been deep in writing mode for our next serial-killer-themed concept album, our first album for Listenable Records (Gojira, Aborted etc.). So stepping back into the twisted world of “Vile Postmortem Irrumatio” — and revisiting Ed Kemper’s madness — was a welcome change. This video is dedicated to one of the most psychotic and unhinged tracks on the entire record.

It features some of the most brutal footage we’ve ever seen, taken from the new film Ed Kemper – The True Story Of An American Psycho, directed by the phenomenal Chad Ferrin. It’s yet another tribute to our obsession with true crime.
Huge thanks to Shaun Hodson (aka Lokifilms) for his incredible work—this collaboration is a perfect fusion of horror cinema and extreme metal visuals. Enjoy!”

Comments Shaun Hodson of Lokifilms:

“Collaborating with director Chad Ferrin on the music video for Monument of Misanthropy’s track “The Devil’s Slide” was an exhilarating, disturbing and educational delve into the twisted mind of Kemper. The project involved using footage from Ferrin’s film “Ed Kemper” and adapting it to the band’s distinctive, driven sound. The narrative was meticulously crafted to align with the band’s three-minute composition of brutal riffs and guttural vocals. Making A match in hell, a perfect nightmarish harmony of sound and visual. This collaboration demonstrated that not all metal bands need to adhere to uncensored visuals when creating authentic music videos.”

Adds Chad Ferrin:

“Collaborating with Monument of Misanthropy has been a match made in hell. I’m still reeling from the sensory overload of The Devils Side.”
