Oxford Pegasus Theatre to host interactive family show

A family-friendly show featuring storytelling, physical comedy, and live music which is coming to Oxford will give children the chance to get up on stage.

The Story Forge: Make Your Own Myth will be performed at the Pegasus Theatre on April 26.

The interactive show is a collaboration between the Rubbish Shakespeare Company and the Silly History Boys.

It was developed in response to a lack of new stories for children and uses a flexible scripted framework.

While the storyline is inspired by the ancient classics to give audiences a recognisable starting point, each show allows children to make original stories.

Lee Hithersay, artistic director of Rubbish Shakespeare Company, said: “It’s been a blast.

“As a performer, this has been one of the most fun and rewarding shows I’ve ever been a part of.

“Honestly, the kids steal the show every time, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. They’re the real stars, not us. You really see how naturally storytelling comes to kids.”

The performances on April 26 will take place at 11am and 2pm.
