Savannah Chrisley Vows to Be There for Robert Shiver’s Kids After Split

• After announcing her split from boyfriend Robert Shiver, Savannah Chrisley opened up about “grieving the loss” of her relationship with his kids
• The podcast host shared that she’s in contact with Shiver’s sons
• “I vowed to always show up, always be there and I was not gonna be another disappointment for them, because they’ve had a lot, and I’m going to keep that promise,” Chrisley said

Savannah Chrisley is making a promise to her ex-boyfriend’s kids after their recent split.

During the Tuesday, April 15 episode of her Unlocked podcast, the Growing Up Chrisley alum, 27, opened up about the many layers that come with “grieving the loss” of her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Robert Shiver, 39. In addition to losing her partner, she said she’s also mourning the loss of the relationship she had with his children.

“I think what sucks that people really don’t prepare you for, is when kids are involved, not only are you grieving the loss of the person you were in relationship with, but you’re also grieving the loss of that relationship that you have with those children,” she said. “All the times that you’ve shown up for them and birthdays and holidays and all the phone calls you got when they were sick and wanted you to show up and just all of those things, it really sucks.”

She went on to add that “fortunately, the conversations with the kids haven’t stopped.”

“When I got into a relationship with Robert, I also got into a relationship with his kids, and I vowed to always show up, always be there and I was not gonna be another disappointment for them, because they’ve had a lot, and I’m going to keep that promise,” Chrisley added.

“When they call, I’m going to answer. If they need me to show up, I will be there. Because regardless of me and Robert’s relationship, I still love them,” she continued. “And I love them more than I dislike where Robert and I are at. I’m trying to navigate this in the best adult way possible.”

Chrisley and Shiver began dating amid challenging legal roadblocks in their personal lives. Shiver’s estranged wife, Lindsay, is currently awaiting trial for allegedly plotting his murder, while Chrisley is helping raise her younger siblings, Chloe, 12, and Grayson, 18, as their parents, Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, remain in prison.

Previously, the Good Girl RX helmer told PEOPLE her relationship with Shiver, “has just shown me that you can find beauty in the ashes. And so for that, wherever it leads, I’m forever grateful.”

“I’m just so grateful to have such an amazing person in my life that shows up and loves and cares and is a positive influence on the kids,” the Special Forces alum said, referencing Grayson and Chloe. “I want to have as much respect for him and his situation as possible because he has three amazing little boys that are going to have to see and hear things one day.”

After nearly two years of dating, the pair decided to go their separate ways. Chrisley opened up about the breakup during the new episode of her podcast.

“I’m doing a solo [episode] because I feel like there’s elephants in the room that clearly need to be addressed,” Chrisley said. “I have allowed you guys in on my life and that comes with all the highs and all the lows. I’ve been figuring out how to navigate this stage of my life because it sucks, it hurts.”

“It’s been about a month and a half since Robert and I broke up,” she added. “So there it is. Robert and I broke up on March 6. Not that I’m keeping track of dates or anything, but I have taken a lot of time to process things and truly grieve the loss of the relationship that I thought was gonna be where I was for the rest of my life.”
