THE Phoenix Festival is returning to the Abbey Grounds in Cirencester for three days of music, arts and community celebration.
The festival, organised by volunteers from Cirencester and neighbouring villages, will run from Saturday, August 23 to Monday, August 25.
On Saturday, August 23, the gates will open at 10am, with the main stage kicking off at noon.
The festival will launch with a vibrant puppet procession through the Abbey Grounds, leading to the festival site, followed by a mass performance of A Song for Orpheus, celebrating 200 years since the discovery of the Orpheus Mosaic. Choirs, schools and individuals will unite in song for this unique moment.
Throughout the day a variety of talented artists will also be performing, including The Roaring Noughties, Tiny Room Giants, Jimmy Moore, The Bones Music Co., Truck Weather, Malovelent Force, and Fall from Ruin.
This will culminate with Saturday’s headliner, Vicky Jackson, performing as P!nk.
The gates will open again on Sunday, August 24, from 11am.
With music starting at noon, the line up includes performances from Prysm, Plucking Different, She Don’t Lie, Bro and Boss Cloth.
The evening will conclude with a set from Cirencester’s very own Aren-E as Elvis Presley.
On Monday, August 25, there will be a special Phoenix Chilled, with an acoustic stage in the bar and chilled DJ sets in an Ibiza-style hangout, from 11am to 6pm.
This special bank holiday session will make use of a reduced portion of the festival grounds.
The festival, which is free to enter, also aims to generate funds for future events.
In addition to enjoying the live music and puppet parade, guests will have the opportunity to explore the creative and wellbeing area, a community arena, various food and drink stalls, and a funfair.
Many food options will be available, alongside fully stocked bars, or visitors can bring a picnic.
People can walk, cycle, or take the bus to get to the Phoenix Festival.
After arriving at Kemble, which is on the Cheltenham-Swindon-London line, festival goers can either take a taxi to Cirencester, or use the limited bus service available.
