After a nearly three-year wait for the second season of the Apple TV Plus sci-fi thriller Severance, fans of the show have been treated to some remarkable episodes over the past few months, but the wild ride comes to an end on Friday, March 21 (or Thursday night if you want to watch it as soon as it’s released).
The unsettling and irresistible dystopian TV drama Severance follows Mark Scout (Adam Scott) and his Macrodata Refinement department colleagues at a fictitious biotech company called Lumon Industries. The employees on their “severed floor” have undergone a brain surgery that permanently separates their work and personal lives — when they’re in the office, they have no recollection of their lives outside and vice versa.
Helly’s relationship with her dad (and eggs) got really weird in episode 9
In the subdued and dark eighth episode, Sweet Vitriol, we learned the real history behind the severance technology and got a full taste of Ms. Cobel’s upbringing. The ninth episode, The After Hours, saw Irving say farewell to Burt (for now) and forge an unholy alliance between Cobel, Mark and his sister Devon.
What are all of the episodes in Severance season 2?
The first nine episodes of Severance season 2 are now available to stream on Apple TV Plus. There will be 10 episodes this season, each released weekly on Fridays.

What time will the Severance season 2 finale be released?
Although the official release time for Apple TV Plus shows is midnight ET, anyone who’s a big fan of the show Severance knows by now that new episodes have been available to view at 9 p.m. ET or 6 p.m. PT every Thursday night.
How long will the Severance season 2 finale run?
Director Ben Stiller has confirmed that the Severance season 2 finale will be 76 minutes long. That news will likely come as a relief to those fans who complained about the brevity of episode 8, which clocked in at a tidy 37 minutes.
Will there be a season 3 of Severance and will it take another three years?
Apple hasn’t officially renewed Severance for a third season, but most experts are certain that announcement will come after the end of season 2. In 2022, Apple announced the second season renewal 2 days after the finale of the first season.
As for when season 3 might arrive, Stiller has assured nervous fans that the third season won’t take nearly as long to produce as the second. On a recent episode of Jason and Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast, Stiller said that the plan is definitely not to wait another three years. He promised that “we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon.”
How to watch Severance 2 on Apple TV Plus
New episodes of Severance have been released each Friday for the past nine weeks on Apple TV Plus. You’ll need a subscription to the streaming service in order to watch the season 2 season finale.
You also now have the option to access Apple TV Plus through another streamer: Prime Video. The retail and tech giants have struck a deal to offer Apple’s streaming service as a $10 monthly add-on for Prime Video customers. That can give the platform added visibility and make it easier to access — therefore simplifying the process of bingeing Severance season 2 (or whatever you’re watching).
Also, some good news for those with an Android device: the Apple TV Plus app is now available to download on the Google Play store.
Subscribe to Apple TV Plus for $10 a month. If you’d like to give it a try before committing, you can sign up for a seven-day free trial. And if you’ve bought a new Apple device, you’ll get three months of Apple TV Plus free, as long as you redeem the offer within 90 days.
How to watch Severance from anywhere with a VPN
What if you’re traveling abroad and want to stream Severance while away from home? With a VPN, you can virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to the series from anywhere in the world. There are other good reasons to use a VPN for streaming, too.
A VPN is the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic. Using a VPN is also a great idea if you’re traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins. Streaming TV can be a bit smoother with a reliable, quality VPN that’s passed our tests and security standards.
You can use a VPN to stream content legally as long as VPNs are legal in your country and you have a valid subscription to the streaming service you’re using. The US and Canada are among the countries where VPNs are legal, but we advise against streaming or downloading content on illegal torrent sites. We recommend ExpressVPN, but you may opt for another provider from our best list such as Surfshark or NordVPN.
ExpressVPN is our current pick for the most secure and reliable VPN service. It’s fast, works across multiple devices and offers stable streams. ExpressVPN is normally $13 a month, but you can save money with an annual plan. There’s also a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Follow the VPN provider’s instructions for installation and choose a country where Severance is streaming on Apple TV Plus. Before you open the streaming app, make sure you’re connected to your VPN using your selected region. If you want to stream Severance on more than one device, it’s possible you’ll need to configure each one to ensure you are signed in. Go to settings and check your network connections to verify you’re logged in and connected to your VPN account. Now you’re ready to open Apple TV Plus to stream.
If you run into issues with streaming, first make sure your VPN is up and running on its encrypted IP address. Double-check that you’ve followed installation instructions correctly and you’ve picked the right geographical area for viewing. If you still encounter connection problems, you may need to reboot your device. Close all apps and windows, restart your device and connect to your VPN first. Note that some streaming services have restrictions on VPN access.
