• A transaxillary incision ensures the scar is completely hidden in the armpit and there is significantly less chance of experiencing changes in nipple sensation or breastfeeding difficulties, but it can make precise implant placement challenging, scar tissue can develop in the armpit, and it requires a specialised technique involving an endoscope, which can make it a more complex procedure.

However, they are often considered to have a more natural, realistic feel, which makes them a more appealing choice for many individuals.

Breast Lift vs Breast Augmentation: Which is Right for You?

While breast augmentation focuses on adding volume and enhancing size or projection, a breast lift (mastopexy) is designed to raise and reshape the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening surrounding tissue.

A breast lift is ideal if:

• You’re happy with your breast size but want a firmer, more youthful shape.
• You’ve noticed sagging due to ageing, pregnancy, weight changes, or breastfeeding.
• Your nipples point downward or sit below the breast crease.

Breast augmentation may be the better fit if:
