Who Won At The 2025 Academy Awards

The 2025 Oscars have come and gone, marking a momentous occasion in Hollywood as several major films, winners ,and performances took center stage. With two musical films, “Wicked” and “The Brutalist,” as well as the period drama “Emilia Pérez,” leading the nominations, the night at the Dolby Theatre on March 2, 2025, was filled with suspense and excitement. All three films were in the running for Best Picture, with “Emilia Pérez” leading the charge with 13 nominations, followed by “Wicked” and “The Brutalist,” each with 10 nods. As the 97th Academy Awards unfolded, fans were eager to see how these films would fare and which performances would take home the coveted golden statues.

The 2025 Oscars also saw history being made for winners and nomines, especially with Emilia Pérez’s lead actress Karla Sofía Gascón becoming the first transgender woman to be nominated for Best Actress. While her Oscar journey was marred by controversy, her nomination was still a significant milestone for the LGBTQ+ community. Meanwhile, “Wicked,” the adaptation of the Broadway hit, garnered attention not only for its performances but also for Ariana Grande’s first-ever Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Glinda, the Good Witch. Grande was up against fierce competition, including Cynthia Erivo, who portrayed Elphaba, and Zoe Saldaña, who would later win Best Supporting Actress, becoming the first American of Dominican descent to claim the honor.

In addition to these stars, the night was filled with incredible performances and heartfelt speeches, making the 2025 Oscars an unforgettable evening in Hollywood’s history. As we look back at the winners and nominees of the 2025 Oscars, it’s clear that this year’s ceremony celebrated both new talents and timeless classics in the world of cinema.
