York City confirm kit numbers for the 2025/26 season

As seen in pre-season, many of York’s new signings for this season have kept the same numbers they wore in the friendlies, whilst there have also been changes in squad numbers.

Mark Kitching takes the number three shirt after the departure of Adam Crookes this Summer, whilst Malachi Fagan-Walcott will wear the number four this season after being number 28 last campaign, replacing Darragh O’Connor, who has not been given a kit number for the 2025/26 season.

Ash Palmer is now York’s number six, taking the number from Paddy McLaughlin, who will wear the number 26 shirt this campaign.

Josh Stones, who wore the 24 shirt last season, is officially now City’s number nine for this season, replacing Dipo Akinyemi after he made the switch to Derry City.

Joe Grey will be the Minstermen’s number 12, whilst fellow new signing Ben Brookes has taken the number 14 shirt, wore by Lenell John-Lewis last season prior to his departure.

Hiram Boateng is set to wear the number 21 shirt, previously worn by Cam John, with fellow new addition Greg Olley taking the number 22 kit from the exited Levi Andoh.

Ollie Banks has replaced Fagan-Walcott in wearing the number 28, and Alex Newby will be represented by the number 30 shirt this campaign.

George Sykes-Kenworthy, who was City’s number 13 last season, has switched to the number 31 shirt for the coming campaign, leaving his previous number vacant.

Kit numbers 13, 16, 17, 19, 24, 27 and 29 remain available.
