The York City loanee was only introduced from the bench in the 96th minute, but within nine minutes of being on the pitch he managed to register the assist for the winning goal as Scunthorpe pipped Chester to a 2-1 victory to win promotion to the Vanarama National League.
Scunthorpe had taken the lead in the 20th minute in the Vanarama National League North play-off final as Danny Whitehall forced a loose ball over the line after Michael Kelly’s initial curling effort had crashed off of the crossbar.
The match was in the Iron’s favour heading into the half-time break, but disaster struck for Fadera’s team when a handball saw Chester awarded a penalty.
Connor Woods made no mistake from the spot, drawing the scores level at 1-1.
It would remain that way going into extra time, when Fadera was brought on in place of goal scorer Whitehall.
Just nine minutes later, Fadera met a launched ball into the area and got the all-important flick on that fell to Carlton Ubaezunou, who swiped the ball beyond goalkeeper James Storey to confirm promotion to the National League for Scunthorpe.
The Vanarama National League South also wrapped up on Sunday, with Boreham Wood clinching an immediate return to the fifth tier just one year on from their relegation.
Having missed out on the title to Truro City on the final day, Boreham Wood would have to achieve promotion through the play-offs should they wish to return to the National League.
They faced Maidstone United in the final, having already beaten Dorking Wanderers and Torquay United on the way to the last hurdle.
Luke Garrard’s team had been held to a goalless stalemate until just two minutes into the second-half, when they scored the only goal of the match.
Some tricky footwork from Abdul Abdulmalik saw the ball laid into the path of Charles Clayden, who curled an impressive effort into the top left corner.
Boreham Wood would hold on to celebrate promotion over Maidstone, meaning the promoted teams for the 2025/26 season have now been confirmed.
From the North, Brackley Town and Scunthorpe will be the two teams heading into the fifth tier.
Whilst in the South, John Askey’s Truro and Boreham Wood are set for the National League next campaign.
