Irina Shayk has returned to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet in a strapless gown absolutely covered in silky black feathers and accessorized with long, Old Hollywood-style gloves. Stepping out for the premiere of Dossier 137, the model joined fellow attendees Andie MacDowell and Diane Kruger in a chic takeover of the Croisette.

The Black Swan-coded dress was form-fitting and included a short train, in accordance with the festival’s new rules, which prohibit nudity, “voluminous” silhouettes, and long trains than might “hinder the proper flow of traffic.”

Shayk’s feathery look is the third time she has turned heads at this year’s festival. Yesterday, the model stunned in a vintage gown by Yves Saint Laurent from the Fall/Winter 1988–89 collection. And on day one of the festival, she wore a demure polka dot number from Armani Privé Fall 2019.

Both looks stood in stark contrast from Shayk’s prior Cannes ensembles, many of which would now be banned under the new rules in the name of “decency.” In 2023, for example, the model stripped down to a Gucci lingerie set with a transparent chiffon dress thrown on top. It was a classic interpretation of the naked dress, which, as of May 12, is officially prohibited.
