A COLD War romantic comedy is taking to the stage in Worcester.
A Covert Affair is a production that throws a fresh and funny twist on the genre of espionage.
It’s set to be performed at the Swan Studio at the Worcester Swan Theatre on July 25, courtesy of Belvedere Productions.
This play features secrets, love and danger, encapsulating all elements of a serious spy story, but with a heart warming twist.
The story unfolds as two agents get more than they bargained for when their mission to acquire state secrets sees them fall in love with each other.
Macfarlane, a graduate of the University of Manchester and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), and Turner, a recent LIPA graduate, promise an engaging narrative with sharp dialogue and high-stakes tension.
Charlie Turner, who also plays the Agent, has performed in a variety of shows including Les Miserables and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Ella Sheree, a Worcester-born multi-talented LIPA graduate, plays Comrade, a Russian spy with her own secrets.
The cast is completed by Alex Macfarlane and multi-talented theatre designer and actor Isaac O’Brien, who play The Wires, a mysterious duo overseeing operations.
Audiences can see the new production at 2.30 pm and 7.30 pm at the Swan Theatre in Worcester.
